Taylor Furniture Ltd designs and manufactures bespoke fitted cottage wardrobes tailored to period homes and character properties. Every wardrobe is handcrafted to work with the unique features of the room, whether that's a sloping ceiling, rooflight, alcove or uneven wall. By combining carefully planned storage with traditional styling and hand painted-painted finishes, each commission is designed to maximise space while feeling perfectly at home withing the property.
Every fitted wardrobe begins with the room itself. For cottages, loft conversions and period properties, this often means designing around sloping ceilings, rooflights, uneven walls and other architectural features that make standard furniture unsuitable.
Each wardrobe is carefully proportioned to maximise storage while maintaining the character and charm of the space, creating a seamless fitted appearance that feels as though it has always belonged within the room.
The Internal layout of every wardrobe is tailored to the client's individual requirements. Hanging rails, shelving, drawers and dedicated storage areas can be configured to suit clothing, footwear, luggage and everyday essentials. By carefully planning the interior around how the space will be used, bespoke fitted wardrobes provide significantly more practical storage than freestanding alternatives while keeping the room organised and uncluttered.
Each wardrobe is handcrafted in our Derbyshire workshop using high-quality cabinet-making materials and traditional jointing techniques.
This project features hand-painted shaker-style doors finished in Little Greene Paint Company's 'Livid', solid oak detailing and a fully oak-lined interior. Carefully considered mouldings, quality antique brass ironmongery and durable painted finishes combine to create fitted furniture designed to provide decades of everyday use.
